In direct response to the devastation which occurred during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, The Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. was registered in the State of Georgia as a Foreign Non-Profit Corporation on July 6, 2007.
The initial thought behind expanding to Atlanta, GA was to bring about awareness of the needs of survivors of the hurricane, as well as to explore further development of the mission of the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc.
In order to successfully accomplish this monumental feat, the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. fostered innovative partnerships with a host of organizations throughout the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta community.
This innovative musical partnership afforded both the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. and Music South Corporation the opportunity to help preserve Atlanta's jazz history, legends, and black cultural traditions for future generations to draw inspiration from.
In 2008, the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. partnered with the Atlanta based Music South Corporation to assist with the archival documentation of the city of Atlanta's first all black professional orchestra.
For more than 30 years the African American Philharmonic Orchestra - Atlanta, GA under the leadership of John T. Peek has performed for both national and international audiences alike.
On Sunday, April 20th, 2008 DeKalb Council for the Arts, Inc. showcased for the first time in Atlanta the private collection of photographs from the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc "Jazz the First Days" 52 piece photographic exhibit.
These photos received substantial damage from the destruction that occured in the flooding aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The event was held at the DeKalb History Center located at (old Historic Courthouse on the Square) in Downtown Decatur.
Also, the same year the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc began it's Jazz Legacy Series entitled JAZZ157 - The Atlanta Jazz Chronicles.
In this edition of "JAZZ 157 - The Atlanta Jazz Chronicles", the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. presents Dwayne Dugger, Composer, and Tenor Saxophonist with one of Atlanta's premier jazz groups, "JASPECTS" and now performs with Bruno Mars. The performance footage is from a benefit for the "Katherine Drexel Institute for the Arts" in Atlanta, Ga.

By 2010, the Jazz Legacy Series had created a new vehicle to not only document the evolution of the Jazz cultural art form, but to develop a series dedicated to the documentation of all cultural art forms.
In this rare Cultural Legacy Series presentation, the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. feature the Tri-Cities High School - Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Dance Department's tribute to the 2010 Earthquake victims of Port of Prince, Haiti. In January of 2014 the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc.-1996 Golden Horn Award recipient Malcolm Parson, cello was a featured soloist at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra - Talented Development Program, 20th Anniversary Concert.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, and alumni of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra - Talented Development Program, Malcolm along with special guest jazz pianist Louis Heriveaux presented "Solitude" an original composition from his 2012 release Anatomy (ANTMY).
Malcolm has performed with Grammy Award winning groups "The Carolina Chocolate Drops" and made history becoming the first cellist of color with The Turtle Island Quartet
This performance was shot live on location at Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta, GA.
In 2015, the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. partnered with Music South Corporation to pay honor to the Atlanta Legends of Jazz with a special Jazz Tribute.
The evening included special performances by Mason Johnson, Dub Hudson, Billy Reid, and John Peek who were accompanied by the African American Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra. Each Atlanta Legend was honored for their contributions to the evolution, and preservation of the jazz cultural art form.

The Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. in November 2017 partnered with Louisiana Culture Festival to bring Louisiana music, culture, and heritage to the citizens of
East Point, GA as a cultural exchange outreach program.
The Louisiana Culture Festival is dedicated to exposing the art, culture, tradition, and academics of the river parishes, in addition to the various health & fitness programs/activities offered through the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. - Educational Outreach Programs.
In partnership with the Louisiana Culture Festival the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc conducted a series of educational jazz workshops for the teachers and students of Tri-Cities Performing Arts Magnet program in celebration of 122 years of New Orleans jazz culture, legacy, and inspiration.
The "Jazz the First Days"In School Field Trip exposed both educators and students to the social, economic, and political aspects of
America's first contribution to world culture, Jazz.
